This card set is a collection of 36 portraits of Early Jazz greats first published by Yazoo in 1982. These portraits differ from most Crumb portraits simply because they were painted and not drawn. This makes these beautiful portraits even more fascinating. Each musician has his or her biography on the reverse of each card. Featured are jazz greats such as Louis Armstrong, Bix Beiderbecke, Jellyroll Morton, King Oliver, Jack Teagarden, Earl Hines, Duke Ellington, Sidney Bechet, Thomas "Fats" Waller, Bennie Moten, Mary Lou Williams, Jimmy Noone and Benny Goodman, and many others–a total of 36 in all.
The box is 3 inches x 4 inches.
