Forty early country music pioneers drawn and painted by R. Crumb with their respective biography (written by Richard Nevins) on the reverse of each card. Featured are such well known acts as Jimmie Rodgers and The Carter Family, along with long neglected groups whose sprightly names alone evoke foot stomping, early country music: Gid Tanner & the Skillet Lickers, The Happy Hayseeds, Ernest Stoneman & his Blue Ridge Corn Shuckers, and Al Hopkins and his Buckle Busters. A total of 40 cards in this set. The box, which was also drawn and designed by Crumb, is 3 inches by 4 inches.
