Started in 1968 by Robert Crumb,  Zap Comix introduced readers to the genre of Underground Comix. The first five issues defined the scope of the new art, inspired by but completely detached from previous comics styles —Zap artists became the reference for a new generation of cartoonists. R. Crumb, S. Clay Wilson, Victor Moscoso, Rick Griffin, Gilbert Shelton, Spain Rodriguez and Robert Williams changed the face of comics, lifting them from the confines of the Comics Code to the rank of recognized art form. We're getting close to the end of the line for the Zap artists, as Griffin has passed away the rest of the artist start to squabble and argue amongst themselves, which is brilliantly and comically portrayed, especially by Crumb.

Only four days ago I ordered a few Zap comix I didn't have and they arrived today! Zap 14 has a gorgeous S. Clay Wilson cover, a great Star Eyed Stella story with the Checkered Demon and other familiar S. Clay Wilson characters, and new to me R. Crumb classics. V. Moscoso also contributes mind-blowing, lovely, trippy art. All in keeping with the great ZAP Comix tradition! I just found this website last week and I want to buy everything! Alex did such a great job acknowledging my order, notifying me and getting my order here extremely fast. I just wanted to say thank you so very much and I'll be back to buy as much as "everything" I can afford.
